Local:  Hemming Plaza Crackdown

National:  Seattle Gives Alcoholics Rooms To Drink In

Local:  Hemming Plaza Crackdown

Over the last two weeks, Jacksonville Police and local businesses have been cracking down on homeless people frequenting Hemming Plaza, located directly in front of Jacksonville's City Hall.

This due to two alleged attacks by homeless people on females...both employed by the same location adjacent to the Plaza.  While it's not believed this is a problem with the homeless in general, it's felt by local business people that criminal types are committing crimes and then falling into the masses of people in the area that make Hemming Plaza part of their day life.

National:  Seattle Gives Alcoholics Rooms To Drink In

According to the New York Times, some of Seattle's hardest public inebriates will be given rooms...not be required to attend church or Alcoholics Anonymous meetings...and will be permitted to drink it their rooms.
